Fun/exhausting/productive/not-enough-hours-in-the-weekend weekend

It is official! I am immersed/drowning in wedding planning. This weekend I was quite productive. Saturday morning I got up early and went with Casey to the flower mart in downtown LA. I got some great ideas on selecting votives to use around the centerpieces at each table. I can't believe it has been a full year since Casey was looking at the flower mart for her wedding centerpieces! My how time is flying... scratch that... SPEEDING past us!

After the flower mart I drove to see my florist in La Canada. They set up mocks of our centerpieces to show me three different vase options and details. The centerpieces were stunning! I can't wait to see them in action. From the florist, I drove to the post office to get stamps for our invitations. They had some cute "King and Queen of Hearts" stamps for our response cards and cake stamps for our invitations.

I drove home slightly ahead of schedule, and promptly relaxed for 20 minutes. Amazing! Mike and I headed out to Sherman Oaks to meet with our jeweler, and to try out different wedding bands. I found a beautiful band with the same antique setting to match my engagement ring. Mike didn't quite find the style he was looking for. So instead of ordering a band, he is going to do a little research and design his own ring. How fun is that!?! I know he is going to come up with a very unique idea :)

Come Sunday, I woke up and went right to work addressing our invitations. We ordered our invitations through Wedding Paper Divas. If you know of anyone getting married or throwing a big bash, you MUST tell them to check out WPD. They have a large selection, speedy service and great prices!

My mom and friend Heather can attest to the fact that I was a HUGE dork in elementary school... in more ways than one ;) ... but especially when it came to handwriting. I had a fascination with cursive writing. I would practice and perfect my handwriting style for hours on end. I know, it sounds thrilling, but I couldn't get enough. I guess my practice is paying off now. I know a lot of our friends have paid calligraphers to address their invitations, and while I am not a calligraphy expert, my handwriting is not too shabby. Okay enough about my nerdiness, we can share more of those stories at a later time.

Here are a few pictures of my work and assembly line. I hope everyone loves our invitations as much as we do!

This just in: Mike came home with flowers! He wanted to thank me for all the hard work I have been putting in with the planning. I could not be marrying a more thoughtful man :)

Okay I am signing off, I swear. Off to make a yummy dinner for my fiance! Using the firetruck RED baking dish Casey bought us. I am honestly thrilled to finally have all these kitchen supplies!
